With more than 25 years of cross-functional leadership, facilitation, and talent-development experience, Alana understands what it takes to lead people through complex change. Before founding 2Hill Consulting Services, she built a colorful career with global technology leader SLB, formerly Schlumberger. She advanced from Field Engineer to Program Manager, led diverse teams and major change initiatives, traveled and worked around the world—and even learned to drive an 18-wheeler along the way. As an energy and technology industry veteran, she has also helped pave the way for women leaders in STEM.

Alana’s approach, Leading Change…the Ms. Engineer Way®, combines critical thinking with compassionate leadership. By helping leaders balance cognitive ability (IQ) with emotional intelligence (EQ), she enables them to reconnect people to purpose, improve team dynamics, and sustain the engagement and performance their organizations require. Alana is the author of What’s Your Catalyst? The Power of Managed Change, which helps professionals discover how they can increase their influence and impact. She holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University and executive education from Harvard University’s Kennedy School. A certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Speaking Professional (CSP), and Extended DISC® and emotional-intelligence facilitator, Alana brings analytical rigor, practical insight, and genuine heart to the work of developing Change Champions.

Together with her husband, Alana has raised four incredible young men in a beautiful blended family. A passionate ministry leader and teacher, she pours God’s love into every child and youth she encounters. As a devoted mother and mentor, she offers encouragement and wisdom to parents navigating every stage of the journey. Her faith, perseverance, and desire to uplift others fuel her speaking and writing.

Alana’s first two books reflect her gift for storytelling and her heart for helping others find meaning in life’s challenges: Love is a Catalyst shares her family’s faith through their journey with cancer, while Love is a Catalyst: The Pain Behind the Purpose offers an inspiring memoir of overcoming adversity and growing in faith. In her latest book, What’s Your Catalyst? The Power of Managed Change, Alana guides readers through exercises and examples to help them discover their passions, leverage their talents, and become more effective leaders—both at work and at home.

A committed servant leader, Alana is a proud active member of the National Speakers Association (NSA), Project Management Institute (PMI), Toastmasters International, and the Association for Talent Development (ATD Houston). She is also a passionate advocate for philanthropy, generously giving her time, talents, and treasure to education-focused charities, MD Anderson Cancer Center, and other civic, faith-based and charitable organizations.

When she’s not traveling the globe inspiring audiences, Alana can be found running (or walking), serving in her church and community, and enjoying life at home in Houston, Texas.
